Need an idea for a fresh spring updo? Check out the red leather barrettes on the 3.1 Philip Lim runway. Just part your hair to one side and twist the ends of your hair into a small, off-center bun. Add a long, skinny barrette opposite your part and you’ve got an easy, sophisticated look!

Check out the ladylike feathers on model-turned-designer Abigail Lorick’s runway. If you’ve watched Gossip Girl, you may already be familiar with some of Abigail’s designs- Lorick’s pieces are used as Eleanor Waldorf’s collection on the show. Growing up on Amelia Island, Florida and admiring Scarlet O’Hara, Lorick’s collections are filled with southern grace and charm. Her collections are often embellished by hats, and while this season is no exception, feathers have been added to the models hair giving an air of prim and proper whimsy.

The feathers used on the runway are probably not available for sale, but you can shop a similar look at Perch.

Once again, we look to Jennifer Behr to define the new season’s trends in hair accessories and, in Gossip Girl terms, this season is no Blair Waldorf. This season’s designs reflect Serena Van Der Woodsen’s style: effortless, edgy, downtown chic. The rosette headband (previously worn by Miss Waldorf) gets an update into cool denim- an accessory Serena would easily pair with a leather jacket and boots.
